Hello Everyone!
So this is my blog. I am now on like 10 different social networking sites. It is pretty ridiculous, I know. But anyways, I decided to make a blog because I realized that tumblr was a bit to photo heavy. By that I mean no one really wrote, they just reblogged pictures. So I really wanted something specific where I could talk about books and also my journey as a pre-med student as an undergrad. I am not a writer by no means, but simply a person that would like to share my somewhat jumbled thoughts on the pre-med path and some books I read.
A little bit more about me: I am an 18 year old girl (women? I don't think so) who is very studious, but also very lazy sometimes, (isn't everyone?). My favorite pastime is to curl up with a good book, especially during the winter. That is my favorite time of the year, winter because it feels like the time where people just stop and enjoy their family and relax. That is a word I feel has been lost on American culture: relaxation. We don't know how to relax. I wish I was like the Europeans who are experts on taking relaxing breaks. But I digress. I love all types of books. I don't discriminate. But I have been reading a lot lately from the Young Adult genre mainly because I recently really got into it and still have a lot to catch up on. But I also like to read biographies concerning people I love or adult fiction. I really love dystopian novels but never really got into the paranormal romance novels.
I chose to be a bio major because I thought that it would open up my options when I graduate. You could do a lot with a bio major. There is a whole legion of jobs that you could land right out of college with a bio major. But for now, I am planning to go to med school and become an endocrinologist. I don't really know why I chose this field. Maybe it is because I saw first hand what an endocrinologist does and thought to myself, "I can see myself doing that for the rest of my life." Or maybe it is because I want to "take the road less traveled" and not dream of becoming a pediatrician. Either way, this might change along the road, so be excited for that. My degree might very well change too, and if that happens I will probably have to change the title of this blog to "Psychology and Books", which won't fit very well as "Biology and Books" do.
